Murray Bridge North School - Silk & Wood Screens

In 2004 Artists Lynn Elzinga-Henry, Suzi Windram were commissioned to work with students to create a work in silk that reflected the cultural diversity of the students' backgrounds. Students consulted their parents and grandparents and shared the information gathered with the artists. The artists then searched for iconography that could reflect or represent each identified cultural group. The unifying element for the piece is the Murray River or Murrundi to give it its traditional Ngarrindjeri name.
